The Konosuke Matsushita Memorial Foundation is offering awards to "research activities in the areas of humanities and social sciences which pertain to establishing international relationships based on global perspectives, solving various issues existing between Japan and other countries, or proposing various measures to promote mutual understanding."
There are around 40 awards to students/researchers
The award is open to any PhD student or postdoctoral researcher within 5 years of finishing a PhD, and there are no restrictions based on nationality or area of residence
The maximum amount of grant per student/researcher is 500,000 yen (about $5,000 Canadian dollars)
