The Chilean Ministry of Education's CONICYT are offering up to 100 PhD scholarships to foreign students who wish to study in Chile at a Chilean university.
The scholarship covers costs for up to 4 years of study, with a monthly living allowance totalling the equivalent of about $13,500 per year (equal to about $2000/mos. in terms of Vancouver cost of living), tuition paid directly to the university and medical insurance. For recipients with families, the scholarship provides 5% of the living allowance per child.
Students can also apply for the equivalent of a $5000 grant to complete their research. The scholarships are renewed annually based on satisfactory progress of program of study.
