  • 12 months support for research in the UK toward completion of a doctoral program at a Canadian university (split-site doctoral award).

The award includes:

  • airfare to the UK at a student or other approved rate by the most direct and economical route and return airfare upon completion of the scholarship;
  • approved tuition and examination fees; a personal maintenance allowance of £917 per month (£1134 per month for those studying at institutions in the London Metropolitan area);
  • a grant toward the expenses for preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable;
  • a grant for preapproved travel expenses for study purposes within the UK;
  • a grant towards fieldwork expenses outside the UK, where a case has been made for its necessity. This shall not exceed the cost of one economy class return airfare to the fieldwork location; a paid mid-term airfare back to Canada for scholars on three-year doctoral awards;

This scholarship is tenable in the United Kingdom from October 2013
