External Award: Russian Federation Scholarships for Canadian Citizens

The Russian Federation Government and Ministry of Education and Science offers scholarships to Canadian citizens to increase access to the Russian language, culture, and the environment as well as to help students advance their career in the international arena.

Three scholarships are available for studies or research at the undergraduate, master's and PhD level. Scholarships are tenable exclusively at the following Russian educational institutions.

The scholarship includes:

  • full tuition for the academic program
  • a monthly allowance of 1100 Russian roubles* for undergraduate and master's level studies and 1500 Russian roubles* for PhD level studies
  • medical services, in accordance with the regulations of the Russian Federation
  • shared accommodation in a hostel provided by the host university

*All amounts are subject to change. The scholarship does not cover any travel costs to and from Russia and represents a partial contribution toward the scholarship recipient’s total living costs.

Applicants are invited to read the Application Guidelines prior to submitting a formal application. These scholarships are not tenable for studies or research at private institutions, schools of culture, fine arts, and international relations.

The deadline for the online application form is April 23, 2012 at 11:59 pm EDT. Applications received late or incomplete will not be considered.
