Dr. Jefferson Chan Receives Dean's Convocation Medal June 13, 2012
The central theme of Dr. Chan's research is the study of the mechanism of enzymes known as sialidases and the resulting sialic acid. Using a specially equipped nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, Chan and his supervisor sped up the scientific search for molecules that disrupt the chemical workings of an enzyme that helps flu viruses to spread. -
