We're sharing the contest entries from our Photos of Home grad student photo competition.

This photo, entitled"Contradiction and Coexistence'" was taken in Kadapa, India. It's from Pradeep Reddy, School of Engineering Science, who writes:

This picture, in a way, represents two contradicting yet coexisting situations in India… At first look, you would see a young boy selling fruit in a rather dirty neighbourhood in the middle of a street and others don't seem to care - which is quite a sad sight if you put on your "child rights" hat.

On the other hand, if take a close look at the boy's face, he is quite happy, confident and content with his business and life. Looking at this picture brings to my mind tons of such contradicting, yet coexisting, scenarios in my "home" India.
