We're sharing the contest entries from our Secret Spots & First Impressions grad student photo competition.

These photos are from Jack Yang, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, who writes:

"Celebration of Lights - Brazil Fireworks"

In August 2012, a close buddy of mine took me to see the Celebration of Lights (ft. Brazil Fireworks) for my birthday. As you can see from the photo, we were able to get a good view overlooking English Bay from an apartment rooftop. This was my first time witnessing the celebration of lights. Suffice to say, I got the most out of it!

"View of the Burrard Inlet" (above)

Barnet Marine Park offers spectacular views of the Burrard Inlet. It is one of many popular locations in Burnaby where you can have a picnic, BBQ, or better yet, grade those exams!

"The Pier at Rocky Point Park" (above)

I have lived in Port Moody for most of my life. One of the must-see places in Port Moody is the Pier at Rocky Point Park. There is nothing like watching the sun set on a summer evening.
