We're sharing the contest entries from our Secret Spots & First Impressions grad student photo competition.

Photo 1 (above): "Group Project" taken near the Academic Quadrangle (AQ) on the Burnaby campus
I was on a self-guided tour when I came across it. It was a meaningful first impression, combining SFU Burnaby's renowned stone-and-concrete architecture together with the quintessential idea of a university as a "gathering place" for knowledge

Photo 2 (below): "Unwind" taken at Granville Island
I took this picture while sitting by the dock, trying to keep my french fries away from very adamant sea gulls. This would make a very nice "secret spot", to unwind and people-watch after strolling through the beautiful shops and grabbing a bite to eat.
