SFU Media Training Workshop

December 10, 2012

SFU Public Affairs and Media Relations just opened registrations for their Media Training Workshop. Grad students and postdocs are welcome — they had two biology grad students sign up last time.

Learn why it is to your advantage to return media calls; how you can avoid being misquoted; why you should stop by the mythical 'Joe's Bar' before an interview; why you should blog and tweet; and why you should never, ever go 'off the record.' As a skilled spokesperson, you'll build your profile as you help build SFU's reputation.

If you think you may be facing the media at some point in your career, this workshop could be very useful to you. Registration fee is $75. Register online.

Hi. I am a visiting research student, from Brazil. I'll start my internship at SFU in January. I would like if I can take this course.

Hi Paula, I'd recommend that you contact Public Affairs and Media Relations directly with that question -- it's their workshop so I don't know their registration policy.
