We're sharing the contest entries from our Photos of Home grad student competition.

Today's photos are from Zheng Sun, Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, who writes:

The top photo, entitled "Rice Harvest in the Mountains", was taken in Long Ji, Guang Xi Province, China.  The photograph shows rice ready to be harvested in an area of China very close to my home. The houses in the distance are those of a small minority group (Zhuang Zhu), two of whom can be seen in the foreground wearing traditional dress. The landscape shows a beautiful area of China, close to the Vietnamese border.

The photo below shows the season when the paddy fields are flooded and the rice is sown.

I chose these photos because they are a collage of several pictures taken by my father,  Sun Shangyuan, who then merged them seamlessly into one.
