The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is now accepting applications for its Independent Research Fellowships program for international Postdocs in the UK.

The program is designed to foster scientific leadership among promising early-career environmental scientists, through providing the Fellows five years of financial support.

The program funds areas of research in environmental sciences. NERC is also keen to attract scientists in areas of applied mathematics, physics or strongly quantitative disciplines, who wish to develop a career in environmental science.

Note that they are also providing funding in "the priority area" of Bioinformatics.
