Undergraduate Student Research Awards

November 05, 2014

SFU's Vice-President Research has provided additional funds for the Undergraduate Student Research Award (VPR-USRA) program for the Spring 2015 term. This award is for students in any discipline and is intended to  encourage students to pursue graduate studies and then a research career in these fields.

Interested undergraduate students should read the eligibility requirements to ensure they can apply. The completed application consists of a two-page form: Page one is completed by the student and page two is filled out by the supervisor. For more background, please see the VPR Sciences and VPR Social Sciences and Humanities pages.

All required documentation should be submitted directly to the Graduate Studies Office, c/o Awards Team. Awards will be given on the first come, first serve basis, between November 5–December 5, 2014.

Please note that this mini competition is for awards held in the Spring 2015 term only; students who have held a USRA in Summer 2014 or Fall 2014 are not eligible. Supervisors need to hold research funding, but it does not have to be Tricouncil Funding.

Our annual competition will open in January 2015 for awards to be held in the Summer 2015, Fall 2015 or Spring 2016 terms.
