External Award: The Generation Google Scholarship

Google has established the Generation Google Scholarship to assist students from groups underrepresented in the computer science or computer engineering fields. Awards range from $5000 (for those studying in Canada) to $10,000USD (for those studying in the US). The scholarship also includes an invitation to attend the Google Scholars' Retreat in Summer 2016.

To be eligible, students must:
  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student for 2015-2016
  • Intend to be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the US or Canada for 2016-2017 school year
  • Maintain a strong academic performance
  • Be pursuing a computer science or computer engineering degree or something closely related
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology
  • Be a student from an underrepresented group in computer science (African American, Hispanic, American Indian).
Deadline: Tuesday, December 1, 2015
