Faculty members, research staff, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited to participate in:

SFU Health Research Day 2016: Networking for Innovation 

DATE: Wednesday, May 4, 2016
TIME : 8:30 am to 2:45 pm
VENUE : SFU Surrey Campus

This year’s exciting program includes:

  • A welcome introduction by Dr. Joy Johnson, Vice-President, Research, SFU
  • A keynote presentation by Dr. Alan Bernstein, President & CEO, Canadian Institute for Advanced Research
  • An opportunity for newly formed research collaborations to apply for a $5,000 development grant from the SFU Office of the Vice-President, Research

Register and participate in an interactive day that will allow collaborations to be built across SFU as pressing health issues ranging from Refugees & Health , Applications & Challenges of Big Data for Health Research to Climate Change, Health & Disease are considered. Registration is FREE (Deadline: Friday, April 22 @ 12:00 pm) . Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

PRESENT A POSTER AT SFU HEALTH RESEARCH DAY 2016!

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are welcome to present a poster on their work related to health research. A cash prize will be awarded to the best poster presented by a Master's student, and by a PhD student or post-doctoral fellow.

  • Summer Research Fellowship: St Andrews Visiting Scholars Scheme December 13, 2017
    The Visiting Scholarships are intended to give researchers at any level access to the University of St Andrews Library's extensive Special Collections. Successful candidates will receive financial support up to a maximum of £1,500 to cover travel and accommodation for a period of 2-8 weeks between July 1 and August 31, 2018. Apply by January 12, 2018.

  • Nominations Open for Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy December 13, 2017
    Nominations are now being accepted for the Nora and Ted Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy. The prize is awarded annually for work that presents new daring and creative ways of looking at the world. Submit nominations for consideration by February 15, 2018.
