External Award: David Hume Research Fellowship

Applications are invited for the David Hume Fellowship to be held at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, The University of Edinburgh. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

The David Hume Fellow will be an established scholar in any aspect of Hume studies. The Fellowship is intended to provide an opportunity for scholars to come to Edinburgh to work on the important Hume resources available in the city’s libraries and archives.

The successful applicant will be expected to be in residence in Edinburgh for the duration of the Fellowship and to participate fully in IASH activities. The Fellowship is for 3-6 months in the academic year 2016-17.

Candidates will hold a doctorate or equivalent professional qualification. Consideration will be given to the academic record and the publications of all applicants and their capacity to disseminate their views among a community of like-minded people.

The fellowship provides a bursary of up to £10,000 towards travel and accommodation. Up to 20 scholars will be selected.
