UN Special Rapporteurs Asma Jahangir and Miloon Kothari are both receiving honourary degrees in the June Convocation. They bring us their unique perspectives of the role and effectiveness of the UN from their experience.

Ms. Jahangir specializes in human rights in Iran. Mr. Kothari specializes in adequate housing and land rights. They also have special perspectives on the complex question of more cooperative relationships in South Asia, as Ms. Jahangir lives in Lahore, Pakistan and Mr. Kothari in Delhi, India.

As the world grapples with multiple political, ethnic, and economic crises, do we need the UN and the Special Rapporteurs who inform and enable the UN’s work? Can Canada play a significant role to uphold the principles and standards that the UN is based on?

Join these two distinguished visitors in conversation about one of the most important organizations in the world on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 4:30 pm in WAC Bennett Library, Room 2020.

Seating is limited, so reserve your seats at sfudialogue.eventbrite.com.
