Application Fee Waiver for Applicants from Eight Banned Countries
Simon Fraser University is an open and inclusive community of engaged scholars from many countries, backgrounds, and religions and we are committed to offering our support to those students whose plans have changed suddenly for reasons beyond their control.
As such, SFU will waive the admission application fee for undergraduate and graduate admissions for citizens from the eight countries affected by the revised U.S. travel ban, effiective October 18, 2017: Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Venezuela, Syria, and Yemen, who are non-residents of Canada.
Please note: the information on this page (countries affected by the ban and applicability of waivers) is subject to change without notice.
This waiver is available to:
- new applicants (those who submitted their applications after October 18, 2017)
- those who are currently studying in the United States who wish to transfer or to continue their education at SFU
In order to receive this waiver, please first submit your application online then send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- First and Last Name
- SFU Student ID number or GA ID number
