Bonnie is currently a PhD Candidate at Simon Fraser and the recipient of a SSHRC doctoral scholarship. She's now in the writing stage of her dissertation: Women in Red Serge: Female Police Bodies and the Disruption of the Image of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The Department of History has the funniest, and arguably most useful, handbook of graduate student advice, written by department chair Mark Leier:
"Back up your work on your computer. Make hard copies, early and often. Remember that "my hard drive died" is widely regarded as the 21st century equivalent of 'my dog ate my homework.' Yes, it happens, and it may actually happen to you. But as an excuse for a late paper, it will be regarded with suspicion. Even if it actually happens twice, no one will believe you the second time."
