Andrew studies emerging diseases of organic greenhouse vegetable production. He says, "The worldwide rise in organic farming is an important aspect of sustainable food production, and it has yielded new challenges for plant pathologists: plant diseases that were treated with synthetic pesticides do not have ready solutions in organic agriculture, but through better biological understanding of these diseases they can be managed in organic systems."
