SFU's Strengths
Simon Fraser University offers an excellent environment for research and graduate studies. The institution is home to a variety of world-class research facilities, innovative programs, and world-renowned scholars.

In November 2010, Simon Fraser University was again ranked by Maclean's Magazine as the top comprehensive university in Canada (SFU news release). The rankings consider a variety of factors, including expenditures on student services, scholarships and libraries, student/faculty awards, student/faculty ratios and the number of national faculty research grants.
The 2010–11 Times Higher Education survey ranks SFU among the top 250 universities in the world — out of more than 17,000 universities and colleges around the world.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s 2011 Academic Ranking of the Top 500 World Universities, released in August, has placed Simon Fraser University among the top 75 schools internationally in the categories of economics/business and social sciences.
