Blaney Awards
The Jack P. Blaney Endowment Fund was established at Simon Fraser University in September 2000 by friends and colleagues to honour Jack P. Blaney, President Emeritus of Simon Fraser University. The Endowment Fund supports the Jack P. Blaney Award for Dialogue, presented to an individual who exemplifies, internationally, the spirit and programs of the Centre for Dialogue.
In 2002, the first medal was given to leading international environmentalist Maurice Strong and in 2005 to Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and United Nations high commissioner for human rights. Our most recent award was given to Liz Lerman, founder of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, choreographer, performer, writer, educator and speaker in 2009.
bruce and lis welch community award
Funding for programs external to the University is available to non-profit organizations, which can demonstrate a financial need, through the Bruce and Lis Welch Community Award. This funding is specifically for space rental at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue.
Canada's World
A project of the SFU Centre for Dialogue led by Fellow Shauna Sylvester, Canada's World was a three-year citizens' dialogue focused on creating a new vision for Canadian international policy. Canada's World is not an organization, but a collaboration of business, diaspora, ethnocultural and civil society leaders, youth, scholars, retired diplomats and senior public servants who are active in international programming, research, education and public policy development.
carbon talks
Carbon Talks is a new initiative of SFU's Centre for Dialogue, in collaboration with SFU's Segal School of Business, the School for Public Policy and the School for International Studies. Their goal is to advance Canadian global competitiveness by shifting to a low-carbon economy. This project is led by Centre for Dialogue Fellow Shauna Sylvester.
Centre of Art and for Social Change (ICASC)
ICASC is a global centre for networking, training, professional development, research and community outreach in the burgeoning field of art for social change. ICASC is also a hub where people working for progressive change in fields such as health, social justice and human rights, environmental education and community economic empowerment, can learn about the many ways that art for social change practices can be used as highly-effective tools in their work. This program is led by Centre for Dialogue Fellow Judith Marcuse.

Hollyhock is an unparalleled centre of learning and connection that exists to inspire, nourish and support people who are making the world better.
link dance foundation
Yukon born and Vancouver-based LINK Dance creates work that is socially relevant and dialogue-driven. Formed in 2000, LINK broadens audiences for contemporary dance by using experimental and cross-disciplinary artistic practices to develop pieces aimed at both stage and site-specific performance. LINK inspires social movement through physical motion.
Planning Cities as if Food Matters
Comprised of workshops and conferences, this project led by Centre for Dialogue Fellow Peter Ladner, aims to raise public awareness of the unique attributes in the Lower Mainland for increased local food production, move the region closer to a food security plan, start a public dialogue about how the Agricultural Land Reserve can be used to produce more local food, break open new thinking around development at the urban edge and encourage developers and landowners to experiment with new forms of development that have local food production as a central component.
the simons foundation
The Simons Foundation is a charitable organization based in Vancouver, Canada, with a focus on education on nuclear disarmament, international law and human security. This Foundation is established by Centre for Dialogue Fellow Jennifer Simons.
