planning cities as if food matters
This project hosted by Centre for Dialogue Fellow Peter Ladner comprised of workshops and conferences which aimed to raise public awareness of the unique attributes in the Lower Mainland for increased local food production, moving the region closer to a food security plan, starting a public dialogue about how the Agricultural Land Reserve can be used to produce more local food, breaking open new thinking around development at the urban edge and encouraging developers and landowners to experiment with new forms of development that have local food production as a central component. Developed through this project, The Urban Food Revolution: Changing the Way We Feed Cities will be published by New Society Publishers in October 2011.
