Personal Connection
I was born in British Columbia and have lived here most of my life. I have been fortunate to benefit from a University education and have seen first hand both the challenges in establishing high technology industry in British Columbia and the tremendous benefits that such education-based industries deliver.

I lost my first wife to cancer and my second wife is a cancer survivor and thus I have seen first hand both the strengths and deficiencies of our health care system and how it affects our quality of life in British Columbia. Not unsurprisingly, my philanthropic interests have been focused on education and health care.

Having grown up in the interior in a family involved in forestry and farming, I am also very aware of the differences between the interior and the lower mainland, and the challenges that the interior faces. Having lived elsewhere in Canada, having been married to an immigrant, and having traveled extensively, I appreciate what a wonderful place British Columbia is to live. But I am also keenly aware of some things I feel we need to improve to make British Columbia a better place to live. I have chosen to stay here and would like to contribute to improving British Columbia.
