| e | Programs >Year OneThe first year of Imagine BC launched October 24 - 27. 2005 on Bowen Island, where thirteen imaginative innovators from diverse disciplines and sectors who shared a commitment and connection to British Columbia spent three days in dialogue. After the Bowen dialogue, the results were presented to 32 policy makers assembled on November 24, 2005. This led to the first Imagine BC Public Dialogue, broadcast live on CBC on February 4, 2005. Together, the Bowen, Policy and Public dialogues succeeded in raising questions and stimulating thoughtful responses from experts, students, and as many British Columbians as possible concerned about the future. The Imagine BC Year One Consensus Statement highlights this shared vision of British Columbia, one that exemplifies the sustainability of a diverse economy, a caring society and healthy communities in a healthy environment. The document also includes a call to action and a set of questions and imperatives that inform the agenda of Imagine BC's years two to five. Imagine BC Dialogue Agenda (PDF, 960k). Broadcast live from the Centre for Dialogue, CBC Radio's BC Almanac host Mark Forsythe moderated a discussion among participants and distinguished guests as part of the Imagine BC Dialogues—a dialogue initiative of Simon Fraser University's Dialogue Programs to explore British Columbia's current reality and possible futures. As a lead-in to the dialogue, daily interviews were conducted on CBC Radio's BC Almanac. Audio streams are available in Real Audio and mp3 format.
