Abstract Submission

General Instructions:

CANQUA provides two venues to disseminate research results: talks and posters.

Talks are 15 minutes in length plus 5 minutes for questions. All presentations will be in electronic format, either Powerpoint or pdf.

Poster boards are 8' x 4'. Posters will be displayed for the first OR the second half of the meeting depending on the session.

ABSTRACTS

Deadline: Friday March 13, 5 PM PST

Abstracts must be prepared using the attached word template (click here) and sent to CANQUA@sfu.ca. Authors should copy their abstract to the chair of the session in which they wish to present their paper. Abstracts must not exceed one page and must follow the formatting guidelines on the template. Figures and tables may be included if they fit within the single page of the abstract. Authors are kindly asked not to modify the abstract template. Abstracts that do not conform to the template will be returned to the author for revision. Registrants are limited to one lead-authored talk.

Authors should indicate when they submit their abstract:

•  the session to which they are contributing,

•  their preference for an oral or poster presentation,

•  if the presenting author is a student (see below).

Student abstract submission

CANQUA and CGRG make awards to students for best student oral and poster presentations (see Awards page). The student must be the first author of a multi-authored abstract to be eligible for an award. In the case of an oral presentation, the student must deliver the talk. To be considered for a poster/talk award, students must add a tab and the words ‘student presenter' after their email address.

Abstract Acceptance

Authors will be notified of acceptance of their abstract as either an oral or poster presentation by the special session organizer(s) within a reasonable time following the final abstract deadline and following confirmation that they have registered for the conference.

To the extent possible, we will accommodate an author's preference for an oral or poster presentation. The number of oral presentations in each special session, however, is limited.

The conference organizers reserve the right to reject submitted abstracts that are poorly written, do not follow the submission guidelines, lack scientific merit or original scientific content, or are beyond the scope of the conference.
