Rainfall-induced rock slides triggered in atmospheric rivers in B.C. and Patagonia

The overall goal for this project is to increase understanding for the complex mechanisms of slope failure in paraglacial environments. This understanding will be achieved by identifying and characterizing the factors that control slope instability in both BC and Patagonia. I aim to achieve greater knowledge in paraglacial environments since many of these areas persist today close to communities and infrastructure. For this project I will combine field work with geotechnical analysis, modeling tools, remote sensing data and their respective processing.
