Dr. Ashley Simpson

University of Edinburgh, Scotland

January 2023 - December 2023

Dr. Simpson is a lecturer in Language Education, Moray House of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh. He was appointed as programme director of the MSc in Language and Intercultural Communication and currently sits as a core leadership team member for the Language, Interculturality and Literacies Thematic Research Hub.

This research focuses on how to fulfill the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s call to decolonize knowledge by questioning the discursive scientific practice that has shaped and set up interpretive frameworks for interculturality in language education. We welcome Dr. Simpson and look forward to his insights into language education, decolonization, and intercultural perspectives.
