What are your interests?

21st Century learning theory, health and wellness, electronic music composition, graphic design, running.

What are your research interests?

I am completing the Educational Technology and Learning Design MEd program. My main areas of interest are in the structure and policies in place that dictate the deployment of technologies in schools across BC. My dream is to one day be involved in developing more shared knowledge resources across school districts - helping foster a wider community of technology specialists.

What attracted you to SFU?

I completed my undergrad and PDP here and enjoyed the connections I had made. It feels like home for me.

What faculty member have I enjoyed working with: Kevin O'Neill. We are both "techie" kind-of-guys with a strong foundational interest in history, aviation, architecture.

What inspires you to learn and continue?

I feel that, as a teacher, I need to embody the spirit of lifelong learning. I talk to my own students about the studying that I am doing outside of our school. Before I began my graduate studies at SFU, I was always taking random classes. Photography, drawing, painting, you name it. I even completed a course a few years ago at Emily Carr called "Designing Social Change" - a truly remarkable experience!

Do you have other things to share?

I am the proud Dad of a brand new baby girl! My wife is a graduate student at UBC - we have both been juggling very busy schedules and the way this SFU program is structured, it really made it possible to do it all.
