Description: This photo was taken in Amie’s Art 6/7 classroom during her EDUC 401/2 classroom experience. The students in the class were creating sets and props for their stop motion video assignments. This photo captures a student of the class in the process of building a couch made out of clay sticks and thread for his living room set. This student and his group were very creative with their props. Their stop motion movie was about a spider that escaped being squashed and eventually found a home with another family.

Description: Taken during the Celebrate Art and Diversity: Canada 150+ Art Show at Marissa’s practicum school, the totem poles in this photo were created by Marissa’s class as a visual display of art. The colourful hand tree was a collaboration among all the classes in the school expressing their love for Canada.

Description: The three students in this photo, from Amie’s Art 6/7 class, were busy working on their stop motion projects. They had decided to use falling confetti as part of their scene transitions. Amie had so much fun encouraging them to keep throwing the confetti so that she could get the perfect photo. Their movie was about a perfume bottle that gets lost in Paris. Throughout the movie, the owner spends her time tracking the perfume bottle down through many adventures and obstacles.

Location: Oaxaca, Mexico

Description: This photo was taken in Oaxaca, Mexico during Dia de las Muertas (Day of the Dead), a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and to remember friends and family members who have died and to support their spiritual journeys. While on her way to the cemetery as part of a cultural celebration, Melissa’s face was painted by one of the locals.

Description: This photo was taken at the Fort Langley National Historic Site in October where Playworks module students were spending time for professional development. The four students in this photo were having such a wonderful time exploring the fort and learning about the history of British Columbia that they decided to capture their mood with a photo.

Description: Taken in Mathura, India, this photo was snapped by Tahnee Pierson while riding on a river boat. The boy in the picture was sitting on his boat ready to take passengers on boat rides down the river. When talking with the ITEM India students, he expressed the pride he feels for his boat and the responsibility that he feels looking after it.

Description: Taken during Dream Camp, which takes place over spring break, this photo depicts a large group activity in the gym with all of the campers. The activity involved the campers passing the hula hoop from person to person all the way around the circle without letting go of each other's hands.
