Imagine walking over 40,000 kilometres — the circumference of the earth — to get to work. That’s exactly what engineering science professor Andrew Rawicz will achieve this Friday as he emerges from the trail following his daily 46-minute walk from his home to the SFU Burnaby campus. Rawicz’s daily commute since 2002 has totaled the equivalent of a walk around the earth.
