Dr. Bonnie Gray is one of the collaborators on the project of developing a prototype point-of-care COVID-19 tests.  The project is awarded $300K by NRC-IRAP and has a funded research agreement through SFU ORS with Metabolic Insights entitled "Lab and research collaboration between Metabolic Insights and Simon Fraser University for improving Metabolic Insights technology and adapting it for Covid-19 detection".

There are two aspects of Dr. Gray's contribution to the project.  Firstly, looking at improving device design toward more manufacturability; and secondly, helping to improve overall device sensitivity and reliability so as to meet the lower levels of detection required for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus.
