High School Guidance Counsellors

Helping you guide your students

We actively engage with high school counselors, helping them assist their students as they plan for university. Need to advise your students on Engineering Science options or careers or just looking for assistance with admissions or scholarship applications? We can help.

Why Engineering science?

Engineering Science is an exciting – and ever-growing – field for students interested in working at the cutting-edge of technology. Our programs combine a rich foundation of technical training with pioneering hands-on experience – and a mandatory co-op that helps many graduates find their first job.

Students follow a common core of technical classes in their first two years, and then specialize in one of five main program options.

Campus Tours and School Visits

SFU Engineering Science is based at the Burnaby campus. We can arrange tours for students, families, teachers and counselors. Tours include our own labs and study spaces but also cover all Applied Sciences programs at SFU. A brief orientation tour of is also included. Led by one of our Applied Sciences students, these tours are a great way for high school students to ask about program options and discover what it's like to be an SFU student.

We can also offer longer tours for high school groups. These can be customized to the needs and age-range of your students. If you would like to book a more general visit of the university with Engineering Science as a component, we can also help you to arrange this.
