The standard registration rate for the 24th International Symposium on Shiftwork and Working Time is valid through Monday, July 22. Also, the rate and availability of the conference package (purchased during Step 2 of your registration) is guaranteed through Monday, July 29. To register, follow the instructions on the “Registration” tab of the website. Be sure to complete both steps of your registration process soon so that you can join us at Shiftwork2019! Also, on the website, you can take a look at the other tabs for recently updated information, including special events within the program. Hope you can attend! The first day, ‘Industry Day’ is free to attend and will feature discussions on shift work and working time among industry, academia and regulators.
The World Sleep Congress 2019 event features a symposia stream related to fatigue risk management featured on Wednesday Sept 25thin room 220. Please click on the link which will bring you the WSC website. There you can read all about the event. To see the line-up of symposia planned for the six days, you can click on the interactive iPlanner button. If you’d like to browse the sessions planned for the fatigue risk management stream, click on Wednesday. Researchers from around the world will be presenting papers on topics including; shiftwork in transportation systems, light, circadian rhythms and health, assessing fitness to drive in sleep disorders, sleep and fatigue in healthcare professionals.
In recognition of October's Ergonomics Month WorkSafeBC is hosting the 4th Annual Ergonomics Forum. You are invited to join us to celebrate ergonomics / human factors and hear ergonomic experts and participate in an ergonomics tradeshow to improve workplace health, safety, and wellness. Fatigue Risk Management: An International Perspective
Following last year’s very successful Fatigue Risk Management Symposium and in response to numerous requests for another similar session, WorkSafeBC is hosting this ½ day, free session in our auditorium featuring the world’s leading expert Dr. Drew Dawson. This session promises to increase our understanding and awareness of the importance of managing fatigue-related risks and provide foundational principles towards implementing an effective fatigue risk management system (FRMS).
The Human Factors Community of Practice will be featuring speakers with an international background. Stay tuned for topics and biographies that will be following shortly.
