Dr. Margaret Schmidt
June 24, 2019
The School of Environmental Science is pleased to welcome Dr. Margaret Schmidt, who runs the Soil Science Lab at SFU. Margaret has been faculty member at SFU since 1992 and has served on the Environmental Science Undergraduate Steering Committee for the past 6 years. Her current research focuses on modelling and mapping of soil types and soil properties for the purpose of sustainable soil management. She has a particular interest in modelling carbon stocks as they relate to carbon sequestration, and has further interests in soil rehabilitation and nutrient cycling in forest environments.
