
FCP courses and requirements
REQUIRED COURSES
All FCP students take the same required courses during their first two years. These courses are offered during specific terms as outlined in the Course Sequence.
Elective courses are also required in order to fulfill all of the requirements of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. There are a variety of fields from which to choose including several that complement the program, such as Economics, International Studies, Sustainable Community Development, Sociology, Criminology, Education, Environmental Studies, Languages, etc.
NOTE: Non-FCP students interested in enrolling in cohort-specific courses may contact the FCP Student Advisor for eligibility and registration permission.
ONE-ON-ONE ACADEMIC ADVISING
The FCP Student Advisor will assist you with the planning of your program of study and with preparations for the exchange program at a francophone university. You may wish to incorporate an additional area of study into your program, or vary the pace of your studies, for example, in order to prepare for Teacher Education or to integrate a Co-op Program or an Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue. For advice about academic options and additional guidance, please contact the Student Advisor.
BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
• B.A. = 120 units
• 65 units from courses in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
• 45 upper division units
• WQB requirements (FCP courses designated as WQB)

FCP PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
• All required POL and FREN courses specific to the program option as listed below
• HIST 102W-3 and HIST 214-3
• FCP Student Exchange Program – at least one semester at a francophone institution
• and a minimum of 75 units from courses taught in French
