It is well known that individuals who are aging often face various health, social and economic adversities. The ability to rebound from adversity has been defined as resilience. Understanding why some people are able to overcome aging-related adversity better than others, and the processes by which this occurs, represent key areas of knowledge development in this emerging field.  This year's John K. Friesen conference advances innovative research, practice and policy addressing the topic of resilience and aging.

We cordially invite you to join us in a conference that showcases resilience thinking applied to several thematic areas in an effort to promote health and wellness during a period of rapid population aging in BC and Canada.

Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Plan now to join us in Vancouver in June 2019 for the Friesen conference.
