Congratulations Dr. Brian Fisher

The Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology is proud to announce that Dr. Brian Fisher has been recently renewed as member of the governing council of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities. 

A cognitive scientist, Dr. Fisher, specialty is in human-computer and human-information interaction. His areas of research inlcude:

  • Scientific study of visual-enabled reasoning with graphical information systerms
  • Cognitive ethnography in healthcare, disaster relief, aerospace and business organizations
  • Cognitive engineering of visual information systems for indivudual and collaborative reasoning and multi-agent coordination (CCI, mixed-initative systems).

Dr. Fisher joins 18 other distinguished scientists from across the country to form the governing body of NSERC, the federal research funding agency.
