This spring, the Faculty of Environment will celebrate its 10th Anniversary. It has been an exciting ten years and I am so grateful for your hard work in making this happen.

To celebrate our accomplishments and keep our future in mind, we have established the Dean’s 10th Anniversary Graduate Student Endowment. You may know I have been passionate about graduate students during my tenure – and for good reason. Graduate students often face difficult financial constraints, but produce life-changing work.

Make a positive difference today with a gift to support our graduate students.

Between 2017 and 2018, graduate student enrollment grew 11%, yet award funding only grew 3%. Tuition, transportation, and textbooks can be a huge barrier – even basic essentials, like food and rent, can be out of reach. Despite this, our graduate students set out to make a difference in the world – but they need your support.

You can make a lasting impact by supporting the Dean’s 10th Anniversary Graduate Student Endowment. SFU will match all new gifts up to $5,000, and 100% of your contribution will support graduate students with tuition, textbooks, and other costs to their degree.

From fighting climate change and saving oceans, to making our communities more equitable and sustainable, our graduate students are changing the world around us. As an important member of the Faculty of Environment, I'm sure you have seen the passion graduate students put into their studies. I know I have. I encourage you to invest in them and their invaluable work.

Thank you for your support, and for improving lives and enhancing our communities.

With heartfelt thanks,

Ingrid Leman Stefanovic
