Haley's 4 months as a Cranberry Scout
Agriculture is an integral part of resource management, and over the course of Haley’s 4-month co-operative education placement, she has had the opportunity to support healthy growing produce. As a Cranberry Scout, her days were spent taking samples in berry fields across the lower mainland, monitoring the crops for harmful pests. This research gives growers the information needed to make environmentally conscious decisions in controlling infestations and making their crops thrive.
This co-op placement combined with her studies from the Resource and Environmental Management program has taught Haley the importance of environmental decisions in ensuring a sustainable future, and has given her an appreciation of the intricacies of the agriculture sector.
