Biography

Dr. Cari Miller received an MSc in 2002 and a PhD in 2006 from UBC’s Interdisciplinary Studies Program. She joined the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2008 as an Assistant Professor and was granted tenure and achieved Associate Professor rank in 2014. Cari’s research and training interests included using mixed methods to explore the social and structural dimensions of HIV prevention among adolescent and young people. Her research included study partnerships in Vancouver and Prince George, BC among Indigenous youth and in South Africa. Cari has achieved international recognition for her research including being granted several CIHR funded research grants, held multiple scholarships during her studies and has more then 45 peer reviewed articles in international journals. Cari left the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2016 to pursue other interests.
