Biography

Dr. Vasarhelyi conducts interdisciplinary and cross-sector research linking health research, mathematics, operations research and management science. She leads the IMPACT-HIV mathematical modelling group and is member of the Complex Systems Modelling Group at SFU’s IRMACS Centre. She also holds a clinical research position at the Department of Family and Community Practice at Vancouver Coastal Health. Dr. Vasarhelyi received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Her current work focuses primarily on optimizing the delivery of HIV health services in Vancouver and international settings through applications of health system modelling and large-scale computations.
