Biography
Dr. Somers directs the Somers Research Group at Simon Fraser University. Over the past 12 years he and his team have led Provincial and multi-jurisdictional programs in the areas of telehealth, primary healthcare reform, homelessness, and the justice system. He has held leadership positions in academia and in clinical practice, most recently serving as the inaugural Director of SFU's Centre for Applied Research in Mental Health and Addiction.
He is the Lead Investigator for the At Home Study in Vancouver, and directs a program of research addressing interactions between justice, health, and social services in British Columbia.
