Ethical Procurment Guidelines & Procedures
Simon Fraser University Procurement Services requests all Suppliers (Vendors) to identify their commitment and compliance to the Ethical Procurement Policy by completing and signing a Vendor Application.
New Suppliers or Vendors will be requested to complete this application.
As current contracts with Suppliers (Vendors) expire, Procurement Services will require an update to current Vendor information.
This is a short form of the Vendor Application.
SFU reserves the right to work with current Suppliers (Vendors) that may not be fully compliant to the Ethical Procurement Policy to develop individual strategies and plans to become compliant. If Suppliers (Vendors) cannot meet the requirements, each instance shall be reviewed and assessed. (See #6. Reservations of the Ethical Procurement Policy)
Procurement Resources
In addition, SFU’s competitive bidding documentation may have nomenclature that includes the Ethical Procurement Policy compliance reference which would provide prospective Suppliers (Vendors), a formal process in which to submit their written acknowledgement and commitment of SFU’s policy; or to provide the opportunity to submit their own organization’s policy regarding Fair Trade practices. SFU will capture this data and may be used in the award evaluations if so identified in the competitive bidding documents.
