Our project is studying the area of Toronto. Toronto is comprised of 6 consitutient municipalities including Etobicoke York, North York, Scarborough, Toronto, York, East York. The population size is 2.6 million people.
This study focuses on vehicle-pedestrian collisions causing pedestrian injury. Accident data reported from the City of Toronto's Traffic and Safety Unit is assessed in this research.
The study by Schuurman et al. (2009) idenitifed pedestrian injury hotspots in Vancouver, this project is an extension of that study, analyzing injury hotspots in Toronto, Canada's largest urban centre.
