RESULTS
Once the MCE was finished, a raster layer was used as a basemap for the Lower Mainland and the vector road network was overlayed on that image. From this image, each of the four MCE results were then overlayed and made transparent on the initial layers creating an image that allows for an interpretation as to the specific areas within the Lower Mainland that are the most suitable. Below are the results for each MCE study that was done.

Competitive Studio
A successful competitive highland dance studio is what most teachers strive to create. The MCE results for competitive locations are identified below. The yellow dots are the current studio locations while the blue dots are the possible new locations for competitive highland studios within the Lower Mainland. From this image, the exact locations of these points were determined by referencing with data tables that gave specific road information. Therefore the table below indicates the cities and the particular locations in which the new studio could be built.
City Locations
Langley North of 200th Street and 16th Ave.
Langley 248th Street and Fraser Highway
North Vancouver Lynn Valley along Mountain Highway
Port Coquitlam Lougheed Highway and Coast Meridian

Non-competitive studio
The analysis from the MCE is essentially the same as the competitive studios; however, the results are different. The blue dots represent the possible locations for new non-competitive studio locations while the yellow dots are the current locations. These results identify the areas further away from Vancouver city center as the more appropriate areas. These areas are also areas that have fewer dance teachers currently.

Large studios are often of interest for those teachers who wish make teaching highland dance their primary career choice. The blue dots in the map below are the possible new locations for large studios while the yellow dots are the current studio locations. The exact locations are listed in the table to the right of the map.

Small Studio
Small studios are what most young teachers starting out wish to begin with. These types of studios allow teachers to maintain a career and study if still in university. Smaller studios allow for the students to receive more detailed corrections and more specialized lessons as the teacher is not dealing with a larger number of students. The possible new locations for such a studio are indicated below in the map as blue dots and in the table on the left as specific locations within the given cities. The yellow dots within the map of the Lower Mainland are the current studio locations.
