Introduction

 

 

The recent boom of real estate and historically low interest rates have brought changes to the skyline all around the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Condominiums are being built in every possible plot of land available. These high density living quarters are trendy and rivals the interior of any single detached house, providing a greater sense of security to its occupants In units with hundreds of people with hundreds of respective cars, there seems to be a real lack of car washing space. Being a victim to this lack of car washing space, I've been forced to go back to my parents' house to give my vehicle a good soaking. My fiancee has taken another approach by constantly spending $20 per session at a car detailing centre to get her ride cleaned. Coincidentally, my sister follows the same philosophy when it comes to car washing, she'd rather pay someone to do the dirty work then get her hands dirty. This paved the way for a lucrative business idea.

 

With the above factors in mind, I have came up with the notion of finding the best place in the GVRD to operate a car detailing centre, targeted in high density condominiums areas that will cater to professional females with an income of $40,000 or more per year. Idrisi Kilimanjaro, with the use of Multi-Criteria Evaluation, will be employed to find the best possible location to operate this car wash facility.
