Under the objective
of complete communities, the LRSP seeks a diversity of housing types, tenures
and costs in each part of the region. The LRSP also calls for sufficient densities
necessary to support transit. Another main objective is to achieve
a better balance between location of jobs and the labour force by clustering
residential densities around existing and new commercial sites serviced by
transit. The LRSP further identifies the building of a network of centres
across the region as one of the best ways to accomplish the ‘complete communities’
objective.
