- In assessing the optimal relocation for Firehall #5, one important factor to take into consideration is its proximity to high density populations. Since there will most likely be increases in student enrolment across elementary and secondary schools across Burnaby and Officials responding to this demand are looking to expand existing schools to increase student capacity, it is important to identify how fast education institutions can be serviced by Fire trucks if a fire or emergency were to occur, particularly Alpha and Burnaby North Secondary since they have the greatest student population relative to other schools in the study area. Therefore, the optimal relocation for Firehall #5 will be based on how effective they can serve schools.
- I will assess the existing Firehall #5 as well as the proposed relocation. I will also provide an alternative proposal site.
