Here is an example of the type of data
inconsistencies we encountered. The two road layers
from the TRIM data and the Minsitry of Sustainable Resource
Management (MSRM) are significantly different. Generally,
the different date of collection would be a reason for
lack of consistency between datasets of the same theme.
However, it appears that there are other factors at
play here. As indicated in the image, both layers show
roads that the other layer is missing. Either each layer
is missing roads that existed at the time of data capture
or they include roads that do not exist. Another inconsistency
between datasets arises do to differing classification
systems. For example, what is considered a trail in
one dataset may be considered a gravel road in another.
