Research Interests: My current research focuses on bridging
the gap between Geographic Information Systems and heath geography.
I developed this interest while working with the College of
Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, studying the spatial
distribution of cardiology inpatients to the province's northernmost
tertiary care centre. In this project, GIS proved to be a
very useful tool in portraying the spatial variation of patients
between health regions. I hope to continue exploring the possibilities
of health-related GIS applications with Simon Fraser University,
through multidisciplinary work with the Faculty of Health
Sciences and the School of Criminology. I've spent the summer
working on expanding the land use file within a cadastral
database of Greater Vancouver, and will be compiling this
information with health, census and crime data to find indicators
of criminal activity.
Education: B.A. (Honours), University of Saskatchewan, May
2005.
